Dr. Rob Rienow’s most important ministry is loving his wife Amy and partnering with her to lead their seven children to love God. He is the founder of Visionary Family Ministries (www.visionaryfam.com), a pastor, international conference speaker, and the author of several books including Visionary Parenting and Visionary Marriage. When Rob is not fishing for men, he enjoys fishing for fish. The Rienow family lives in West Chicago, IL.
Rob married Amy in 1994 and they have been blessed with 7 children. His most important ministry is loving his wife and leading his children to know God and love Him. Rob’s mom came to Christ shortly after he was born so he was blessed to be introduced to Jesus at an early age. His parents divorced when he was in high school and God used that painful time in his life to give him a heart for young people and families going through dark times. He attended Wheaton College, then completed an MA in theology at Wheaton College Graduate School, an MDiv from Trinity International Divinity School, and a Doctor of Ministry in Christian Leadership from Gordon Conwell Theological Seminary.
Rob’s life dramatically changed in 2004 when God brought him to a place of deep repentance over the fact that he was discipling other people’s children, but not his own. He was a spiritual leader at church, but passive with his family. Through that time of repentance, God turned his heart to the ministry of his children and his wife. God then led Rob and Amy to launch Visionary Family Ministries, a ministry designed to inspire parents and grandparents to disciple their children, to help couples create mission driven-marriages, and to equip churches to build Bible-driven ministries.
Rob is a pastor and church planter at Gospel Fellowship Church, and serves as the founder of of Visionary Family Ministries whose mission is to build the church through a global reformation of family discipleship. He shares the biblical message of family discipleship at national and international conferences for parents, couples, and church leaders.
He is the author of the books Visionary Parenting (Randall House), God’s Grand Vision for the Home (Awana), Visionary Parenting (Randall House), Reclaiming the Sufficiency of Scripture (Randall House), When They Turn Away: Drawing Your Adult Child Back to Christ (Kregel), and his latest book for church leaders, Limited Church: Unlimited Kingdom – Uniting Church and Family in the Great Commission. He and Amy also wrote Visionary Marriage (Randall House) to help couples capture a compelling, biblical vision for their life together. The Rienow family lives in West Chicago, IL.

Jonathan was born to British parents in London, England, and lived there until he was 17. After moving to America and attending Emory University, he enrolled in an MA program at the University of Chicago. It was there that he met his wife Kari and became a Christian. Although initially planning to pursue a PhD in English, after God got a hold of Jonathan’s heart his life took a different direction. After completing an MDiv from Trinity Evangelical Divinity School, he got a job as a pastor at Wheaton Bible Church, a large church in the West Suburbs of Chicago, where he worked with the adult ministries team doing leadership development, training, teaching, pastoral care, as well as leading the Alpha Course (an evangelism ministry) and Single Purpose (a ministry for single adults 35 and older). In 2015 Jonathan joined Visionary Family Ministries, where he now works full-time to encourage families and marriages around the country and around the world. Jonathan and his wife Kari have four daughters (ages 6-14), and live in Wheaton with their hyperactive border collie, Skye.
Jonathan was born to British parents in London, England, and lived there until he was 17. After moving to America and attending Emory University, he enrolled in an MA program at the University of Chicago. It was there that he met Kari and became a Christian. Although initially planning to pursue a PhD in English, after God got a hold of Jonathan’s heart his life took a different direction. He wrote his final thesis on CS Lewis’ book, The Screwtape Letters, and was asked to present his findings at the 1998 International CS Lewis Conference, held at Wheaton College. He was the only person presenting who did not attend Bible college or have a seminary degree!
Although sensing a call to ministry, through prayer Jonathan discerned the timing was not right. So, after their marriage in 1998, Jonathan and Kari moved to California, where he worked for the next seven years in electronic publishing at Stanford University. While there, he served on the leadership team with Bible Study Fellowship, and contributed to a number of Christian Bibles and books as a freelance writer and editor, including: Jesus Among Other Gods Video Curriculum and Study Guide (ECPA Gold Medallion Winner 2002), The Apologetics Study Bible, Strive: A Study Bible for Men, The One Year Bible Proverbs Devotional, The One Year Bible for New Believers, and The Gospel of John (a special resource for new believers published by Alpha USA).
In 2005, with two young children in tow, Jonathan and Kari moved back to the mid-west, and he began an MDiv program at Trinity Evangelical Divinity School. Upon graduation, he got a job as a pastor at Wheaton Bible Church, a large church in the West Suburbs of Chicago, where he served for seven years, working with the adult ministries team doing leadership development, training, teaching, pastoral care, as well as leading the Alpha Course (an evangelism ministry) and Single Purpose (a ministry for single adults 35 and older).
In 2014 Jonathan began to sense God was moving their family once again, this time across town to a small non-profit ministry equipping parents and supporting marriages. After almost a year of prayer and conversation, Jonathan and Kari joined Rob and Amy Rienow on staff with Visionary Family Ministries in September 2015.
